Your Next Go-To Beanie Has Docked

Julien Perreault

Good day everyone!

I’m excited to be back so soon with another free crochet pattern just for you. This time, I’ve made a small twist on a classic: the Mariner Beanie. This beanie offers both warmth and character with its ribbed texture. Designed to sit just above the ears, it balances structure and softness for a snug, modern fit. Its lightweight yet cozy construction makes it the perfect companion for crisp mornings, seaside strolls, or adding a refined touch to your cold-weather look.

So, let’s get started! Grab your hook and pour yourself a good cup of coffee! Today, I’m sipping on Decaf Brazil from @Barren Ground Coffee. A nutty, mild, and sweet blend. The perfect companion for a relaxing crochet session.

Panel Assembly and Finishing
With the first panel complete (rows 1-19), begin the second panel by continuing from row 2 and repeating rows 2 through 19. Repeat this sequence for a total of 9 panels. On the 9th panel, stop at the end of row 18. Do not fasten off. Fold the piece with right sides facing each other and slip stitch down the side to join the first and last panels. Using a 15 in strand of yarn, sew around the top edge to cinch the beanie closed. Turn the beanie right side out.

Have a great day!
